Before the Storms
By rob miller | January 9, 2008

Making sure the shoulders receive some “press” stimulus during a barefoot bouldering session on the beach. For climbers, due diligence balancing the muscles surrounding the shoulder girdle is often comprimised for “performance.” Overuse injuries arise without investment in balanced training or rest.

Dear Dan- “if it were easy, it’d be called snowboarding”…..
you don’t need to go on a hiatus next week; i can handle your banter. just be prepared.

which is why i’m a two-planker. but freeing the heels for the sake of expending more energy to go slower crosses my own line between challenge and just plain silly. why don’t we just incorporate more lunges in our WODs to get you your fix?
January 9th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
I hate lunges therefore I snowboard…and i’m too uncoordinated for the 2 sticks. Dan was cranking out the handstand pushups…I need to lose some weight so that I can compete.
9 min something
205# DL, Box assist Handstand pushups.

oh dan, obviously you’ve never done a proper tele turn. i’ll save the rest for the slopes where i can put my money where my mouth is, since i have no idea if my knee can handle it. ditch work on friday and come with us! nice work on the hspu’s!

anyone riding north shore this weekend? sugar bowl? i haven’t met many of you directly, but i have seen you around. i’ll be in truckee for the weekend and riding at sugar bowl in case anyone needs a riding buddy.

14 min and change
185# DL, 21 HSPU’s on wall (8 of them with assistance from Chris), 15 and 9 on box, employing the “curling in the fetal position after two reps” method.
and it’s true, i’ve never done a proper tele turn, just as i’ve never gone climbing dragging a jumbo squid from my harness, or run a marathon in crampons

Dan, you just don’t know what you are missing… a proper tele turn is like slotting a #6 nut just when you need bomber protection…..just nothing like it! Nice job on the WOD!

attempting to exercise restraint and avoid nut-size jokes here, i’ll only say thanks, but it was anything but nice. let’s just say i was not chuck norris and pushing the earth down.
